Artist's Comments
In my new work, 36ACT, I have returned to my ongoing collection, Alchemy (2004-10) to explore my facination with the cross-over between art and science.
My work explores the collision and cohesion between the boundaries of fine art, paint and photography. Taking inspiration from what we see around us and images from the media, the interpretation of my work becomes personal and discursive allowing interactions and engagement.
The work is created using the technique of mark-making on a single strip of negative originally made in 2004 as part of my Alchemy series. The work comprises of a series of 36 images, which can also be seen separately.
