BlankSounds, our new live music night has got a treat in store for you this month! We're delighted to be hosting the first gig in the UK tour of the wonderfully talented Deaf to Van Gogh's Ear and Chrik. With members originating from as far afield as Miami and Dukinfield, Deaf to Van Gogh's Ear's sound is expectedly and notably eclectic and diverse. Complex rhythms and song structures cuddle up to sweet pop melodies and catchy successions of chords; all performed with a healthy helping of instrument swapping. Described as 'Technical math rock that puts a smile on your face', Chrik's sound is characterised by chaotic time signatures, athletic guitar tapping, choppy changes and boogieable grooves. Live, these boys are tenacious and uncompromisingly precise. Liverpool duo Chrik promise to deliver an invigorating show. Alongside these two bands we'll also have the charismatic Manchester band Nuzzlemuzzle.

Deaf to Van Gogh's Ear are a four-piece math-pop band based in Manchester. With members originating from as far afield as Miami and Dukinfield their sound is expectedly and notably eclectic and diverse. Complex rhythms and song structures cuddle up to sweet pop melodies and catchy successions of chords; all performed with a healthy helping of instrument swapping. All in all something to flex both the intellectual and the dancing muscles.
