An outdoor space is meant for the whole family to enjoy, giving them a chance to get out in the fresh air after being at work, or at school – or just inside – all day. When work starts early and finishes late you are likely to get mining syndrome; feel like you never see the sun or even the light of day. This is not good for you, but can easily be fixed by creating an outdoor space with comfortable outdoor furniture so you can enjoy being outside in the late evenings or at the weekend.

gazebo

If you come home from work and have to start getting the evening meal almost straight away, your time outside will be minimised. That is why an outdoor area should include a barbeque, a pizza oven or some other means of cooking. You can then get everyone outside to enjoy what’s left of the day while dinner is cooking and you can keep an eye on it and the children as well.

So what kind of outdoor space would you like? Here are 5 choices.

  1. A wide veranda that is an extension of the home. It will have 3 sides and a roof to give the greatest protection while still letting in light and fresh air. This is a very versatile and convenient space and you can even use it for an outdoor kitchen/dining area. Electric lighting can be installed easily and safely.
  2. A deck is somewhat different as it may not be attached to the house, or even have a solid floor or roof. Many decks just have pavers for the floor. This makes them easy to build and cheap as well, although they may not be convenient – especially in wet weather. Most decks are close to an external doorway to make them easier to access. Some decks are added to the home, but have no roof.
  3. An outdoor space in the back yard that is away from the home. Not made to be an all-weather retreat, this may have pavers for the floor, but no walls or roof. There may be a shade sail. Often, a path leads from the back door to this area just to keep your shoes dry after rain or heavy dew. Lighting choices are limited.
  4. A gazebo has a roof and a floor, but usually no walls. However, you can hang curtains for shelter or privacy. These are usually some way from the home and can contain more comfortable outdoor furniture than a space with no roof. If PVC roller blinds are installed, it can be made weatherproof.
  5. A patio can be as large or as small as you want – and council regulations allow. It is usually attached to the house and contains pot plants, a comfy chair or two and a small table if you wish. Great for reading, doing certain crafts or just enjoying the sunset.

These days when space is often at a premium in the home, the bedroom can be used for more than just sleeping, so long as there is good lighting in there.  With the addition of a simple easy chair or sofa and a small side table, you can use it for doing craft, reading or just relaxing. It would also be a good place from which to make private phone calls.  It won’t cost that much to get an richtekelectrical in to change the lighting.

So what kind of lighting do you need? It all depends on what you want to do and what is there already.  You may have plenty of natural lighting, but this won’t help in the night time when you want to read. At the very least you’ll need bedside lamps, but these may not cast enough light for doing fine work.  Here are some points to consider before you start changing the lighting.

  • Tall lamps can make a room look squatter, especially if the ceiling is not very high to start with.
  • Wall lamps cast a warm glow over a large area and double as wall art, complementing the decor you have already. Such accent lights would be good to have over the easy chair, but you may also want to have a moveable spotlight to help you see fine work.
  • A mix of wall and table lamps is often the way to go in the bedroom. That way you can change some of them around to suit specific needs.
  • Don’t forget the wardrobe. Whether you have a built-in robe or a free standing one – or even a walk in one – the wardrobe is often poorly lit and it’s difficult to see which clothes you want, especially if you favour dark colours. Adding lighting inside the wardrobe will make your life easier.
  • If there’s enough room, add a small storage cabinet for hobby supplies; if there is not, use a lidded storage bin and slide it under the bed or in a corner somewhere. Having craft work to hand will encourage you to do a little bit even if you are busy or tired.
  • Some bedrooms have bedside lamps that are hung from the ceiling. This may look attractive, but it is rather dangerous if you have children. Once they find those lamps swing around, they’ll want to push them all the time and may even try swinging on them when you aren’t looking.
  • If you use the bedroom for craft or anything else in the daytime, you may need to have a different window treatment to let light in, but keep out glare, depending on what direction the bedroom faces. A nylon curtain can diffuse strong light while still allowing natural daylight through.

Installing a swimming pool in the backyard is an added responsibility even though it brings a great deal of pleasure. Cleaning the pool can take a lot of time and effort, unless you purchase one of the robotic pool cleaners that are available. A kreepy krauly pool cleaner will take the burden of work off you, but are they environmentally friendly?

The answer is yes, and here’s why.

  • Pool cleaners have a very low voltage, so they don’t take up as much power as you might think, even if they are going for several hours. Some only cost 15 cents to clean the pool.

  • Using an automatic device to clean your pool on a regular basis will reduce the amount of chemicals needed to ensure the correct ph of the water. Less chemicals is always a good thing.
  • Cleaners remove algae, leaves, sticks and other debris that falls or blows into your pool, making the pool water cleaner and more fit for swimming in, so that is being eco friendly too.
  • Being electric, they don’t have any dirty emissions from the motor, so can’t pollute the air.
  • Some newer types of cleaners can be powered by the pool pump and are very quiet.

There are a lot of different cleaners on the market so it is important to do some research to ensure you get one that is suitable for the pool you have. Another consideration that many people forget about is the weight of the cleaner. You have to lift the cleaner in and out of the pool.

Getting a heavier cleaner into the pool may not be a problem, but lifting it out again can be if you are not a strong person. Luckily, there are really light cleaners available, but they may not do the walls. This is why it is important to consider all the details.

Other features to check

  • The cord should have a swivel end so it doesn’t get tangled.
  • The bag that collects the debris should be large enough for leaves and twigs. Some models require purchase of a larger bag.
  • Not all cleaners can pick up both large and fine debris
  • Not all cleaners are strong enough to do the walls
  • With some models rocks get stuck in the turbine
  • Not all models climb stairs
  • Cable length may not be long enough
  • The automatic cycle may not be long enough, or it could be too long.

As mentioned, the size and type of your pool will usually dictate the kind of cleaner you buy, but budget may also be a factor. Remember that the cheapest is not always the best for the job.

A gazebo as opposed to an outdoor patio is a structure that stands apart from the house and is usually located somewhere in the garden to create a focal point. The idea of having a gazebo is that it gives you a place from which to enjoy the outdoors while still having some kind of comfort and shelter. The roof is shelter from the hot sun and sudden shower, while the furniture inside – whether comfortable sofa or plain bench – offers a place to sit and rest for a while. It is up to you what kind of gazebo you have and what you have inside it.

Gazebo Design

Gazebo Design

Here are 5 different styles of gazebo you might like to choose from.

  1. Octagonal or hexagonal. These are the two most popular shapes for gazebos, though they can be oval, square, rectangle or even round. The round one is not considered to be efficient in what you can fit into it for the size, however it may suit your purposes better than the others.
  2. Another distinction between gazebos is what they are built from. You can choose almost any type of building material, with timber being one of the most common and popular. There is also powder coated aluminium, steel or even plastic. Metal gazebos are almost maintenance free which is why they are popular. Timber must be treated to prevent rot and warping, but it gives a timeless look in many different styles that is always popular.
  3. You may only want a gazebo on a temporary basis to host a wedding or throw a party. In this case, the pop-up one is for you. There are two types, one made of plastic or vinyl that simply folds down, and one that comes in pieces that must be fitted together. Which you choose may depend on your skills as a handyman.
  4. Some gazebos are fully enclosed with glass sliding doors to keep out biting insects, rain and wind. This extends their life as they can be used almost all year round, depending on where you live. Others have options for closing off one or all sides with curtains made from mesh or outdoor material that withstands the weather. Some are only partially enclosed with a slow wall that allows the installation of benches around the edges.
  5. A gazebo doesn’t have to be out in the garden, you can have a patio gazebo with the four posts permanently bolted to the floor of the patio whether that is timber or concrete. The benefit of this is that it will be closer to the house so more convenient to access with that cup of coffee – and if you use it for a family wedding, much easier for everyone to get to.

Everyone who decides to include a website for their business will want it to look professional. The trouble is they may not know exactly how to accomplish this. The very best way is to hire a professional digital agency to do it for you, and you can look over their shoulder as it were, to make sure they include these 5 ways to make your web design look professional.

  1. Clean and free of clutter is the watchword. No one wants to try and navigate through a forest where the trees are so close together they have to walk sideways. Neither do they want to work out where to go and how to get there on a website that is so cluttered they can’t see anything. A clear and clean page will make your visitor happy because they can see what they want straight away.

  1. Research other websites and see what you like about them and if it works well when you try to navigate through to other pages. If you truly love some feature ask your designer if it can be incorporated into your website. In fact, copy down the URL so your designer can see for himself what you mean.
  2. Make sure your important content is in the place where most eyes go to first. That is, top and left. We are trained to read from top to bottom and right to left. Somehow that means most eyes slide to the top left side first. This is where your sign-up forms and other important information for the visitor should go. Visual hierarchy dictates that important stuff should be bigger and brighter than less important details.
  3. Text needs to be easy to read. This should be one of the most obvious points of all, yet how many times do you have to squint to read tiny print that looks like it is fading away on a website. Your visitors eyes are important, don’t make them get eyestrain by using fancy fonts that make words hard to read. Tiny or fancy fonts, small sizes, too many different fonts, pale colours that don’t stand out on the background are all signs of an amateur, not a professional.
  4. Make sure your website is responsive. That is, it can easily be seen on the tiny screen of an iPhone or tablet. So many people these days connect to the Internet with small devices that if your website does not show up well on them you will miss out on a lot of traffic and potential customers.

Once you can see that your digital agency knows the best ways to design a professional business website, you will have peace of mind that the website they make for you will do all that you expect of it.

The dilemma facing most stylists, landscape architects, interior designers as well as interior decorators is what kind of finishing to suggest. This dilemma of old is solved with the current industry which in fact has diversified the incontestable limestone products in the perfect choice of material for luxury yet still covering affordability. Stone products can be seen in many villas in Bali on floors and especially used as stone wall cladding.

Limestone finishing could be in a variety of products:

  • Limestone tiles.
  • Polished limestone surface finishing.
  • Honed limestone surface finishing.
  • Brushed limestone surface finish.
  • Antique surface finish.
  • Bush-hammered surface finish.

Limestone tiles
Limestone tiles used as stone cladding are in a wide variety of shades to fit the customer’s specific taste. The wide variety of limestone tiles give you a sense of nature indoors. From the earthen shades of brown to lighter grey-white shades of shell, to cream-yellow shades which give a touch of yellow sand. All these to be enjoyed out of the limestone tile-finishing.

Polished limestone finishing
For a smooth, refined and attractive interior, Limestone is used as the base material in whose natural state as a finishing material for the interior may be considered rugged and displeasing. Polishing gives the option to improve aesthetics to what is eye-catching together with an additional tinge of luxury. Polishing gives a glossy look, smooth as well, with lower reflective properties. The process of polishing is done through grinding the stone-surface by use of diamond grit pads or diamond compounds. The end effect is like that of a mirror.

Honed interior limestone finishing
A honed finishing is better suited for an individual who prefers less gloss as well as lesser reflective properties of the end polished surface. This type of limestone finishing is in all ways similar to the polished limestone finishing. The difference is in a notable reduced glossiness as well as increased degree of coarseness with the honed finishing. The honed finishing does well for semi-interior surfaces such as in the balcony as well as verandahs. Direct sunlight falling on them gives them a natural look without undesired and intolerable amounts of gloss.

Brushed limestone finish
The limestone surface is scrubbed or rather brushed using steel or relatively hard nylon brushes leaving behind what is in fact lightly textured a surface. The surface will bear desirable properties such as higher resistance to scratches and unwanted marks. This is ideal for bathroom and lavatory areas which would more often than not require more attention with respect to cleaning, regular scrubbing to ensure cleanliness.

Antique finish
The idea behind having an antique finish is to enjoy the golden touch of age in a new look. This is done through a process known as tumbling where the stone is vibrated in a sand bath and in grit. After this, it gets a distressed lightly rugged look which can be further distressed by putting the antique tile into acid such as oxalic acid to give a final look, it gives an attractive look of luxury only found in antique pieces.

 Bush-hammered finish
This is done by subjecting the surface to hammering force provided by a hammer with steel points. This allows for chipping off of some material from the surface to leave behind what is both a rough surface with grip, but smooth enough not to give the distracting effect of outside terrain.  This is ideal for a holiday home.

Go viral with a difference with engaging graphics and visuals! The success of sensory marketing is largely based on its visual appeal. A lengthy chunk of text, even if it is exceptionally well written, can bore the readers after a while. On the contrary, people tend to retain 50% more information when it is presented to them in the form of enticing graphics and visual cues.

We humans like to believe what we see and perhaps this is the primary factor that does wonders. More and more digital agencies are starting to realize that humans are likely to retain more information when it is presented to them in the form of interactive graphics and engaging visuals than in the form of simple boring text which just shows how much of an impact visuals and graphics can have on human mind.

Visual Storytelling – The Art of Communicating through Visual Cues

Because seeing is believing!

Telling the story of your brand is not an easy task for most businesses. Start ups in particular find it difficult to communicate effectively with their target market. Writing your ideas is one thing but demonstrating your brand to the world using creative graphics and visuals is an altogether different dimension.

So why go for tried and tested boring marketing tactics when you can offer your target audience with much more? Visuals and graphics therefore offer a great way of getting the customer a glimpse of what you’re offering to them to help them satisfy their needs, how they can avail your services and what makes you different from others.

An interactive website with the perfect blend of creativity and imagery is all that you need to carve up a niche for yourself and attract more customers to your business.

Whether you are looking to teach your audience how to use your products or services, improve your brand awareness or brand visibility, a business website that provides the right blend of creativity and information is what you need to help your audience make a positive purchase decision.

The more interesting your graphics and visuals, the bigger the audience it will attract. People like to be entertained, informed and educated and a visually compelling website can do all three.

Bottom Line – Blend everything well in your Marketing Mix!

While a visually compelling and engaging website is a very important component of your digital marketing campaign, it is just a part of a well-designed marketing plan. To achieve the best results, everything needs to be integrated well into the overall web marketing mix.

The key to using a visually appealing and functional website as a part of your digital marketing strategy is to supplement the message that you’re promoting through your offline and online marketing activities.

The concept is all about building on your promotional message with more practical information. By giving a face to your brand, you can develop a direct connection with your target audience and make a lasting impact.

Remember,

If you fail to make a connection with them, you fail to make an impact.

Have you even thought of installing an elevator in your home? Having a home lift will make life much more convenient and pleasant for you, with access to the top floors just a step away. It is not only the frail elderly that need a lift in their home. Stairs take a great deal of energy to use and are actually quite dangerous, especially if you are carrying goods – or the baby. Lifts these days have undergone a transformation; they don’t all look like a square box in the wall and they are certainly not something the home handyman should attempt to install. In fact, you can even get an octagonal or tubular lift for your home, depending on your needs. However the main difference in lifts is the way they work.

Cable Winding Drum

This is one of the most affordable home elevators to install; unfortunately, the ongoing costs are fairly high because cables eventually stretch and wear, so have to be replaced. This can happen every 2/3 years, so you may not save as much as you thought. Another downside is that it does not give a smooth ride. You may not mind feeling the tremors; many people don’t. However, if you are not expecting it, you may think something is wrong with the lift. It is also fairly noisy, which could be a problem.

Hydraulic Lift

The hydraulic lift is a more expensive option, but offers a ride that is much smoother and quieter than the cable winding drum. The descent especially is smoother. However, it still does use cables and these must be replaced every five years. Because of the hydraulic setup the cables are more difficult to access than the cables in the winding drum lift, so it will cost more to replace them. In addition, the hydraulic hoses also need to be replaced.

Chain Drive Counterweight

This type of lift offers a good ride and quiet operation. It may not be quite as smooth as the hydraulic lift, but other advantages make it one of the more popular choices. It is low maintenance and has a low running cost over the lifetime of the lift. As far as installation expense goes it is around the middle of the spectrum – more expensive than the winding drum, but less than the hydraulic. It needs an access door at the top of the hoistway.

Inline Gear Chain Drive

This is similar to the usual chain drive but it has some improvements. Less head room is needed because the assembly is at the top of the shaft instead of on the roof of the cab. Thus the construction costs are reduced and the emergency controls outside of the car provide faster access, thus increasing safety. It is also more energy efficient due to the inline gear system.

Regardless of how they work you need to think about what you require in a lift before making a final decision. For instance, some small lifts are not big enough for a wheelchair. If you have a health problem that will eventually require you to use a wheelchair, the smaller lift will not be a good investment.

It is also necessary to stick with the kind of lifts that can be retrofitted if you have your home built already. But if you are building a new home, you will not be limited in this way and can choose other options if they suit you better.

With the increasing crime rate, the need of security technology is also increasing. Installing protective doors, windows, fencing, and screens is a rational decision in such instances, especially when you are making a high investment on a new home. If you live in areas where crimes take place every other day; then install the needed security equipment and protect your home, your family, and yourself from bad incidents.

Security Doors

When the question of security arises, people focus a lot on the doors, as they are one of the outlets from which the burglar can enter the house. This is the reason why security doors play a significant role in reducing breaking and entering scenarios and guard you against any such harm. The security door’s material can range from wood and glass to steel and aluminum.

With different materials, there are also different styles of security doors to choose from. These comprise of; sliding security door, bi-fold security door, hinged security door and many more. Some of these doors come with triple lock systems; whereas others protect you from any kick breaking and shoulder slamming entries. See-thru doors allows fresh air to enter you house without compromising on the security.

Security Windows

Windows are the second gateway from which burglars’ break-in. Many of these security windows provide safety from robbers as well as flies and mosquitoes. They also block heat and UV rays and provide cooling instead.

Most security windows have a proper locking system; while others have thicker glass which include; laminated glass, reinforced glass, tempered glass, bullet resistant glass, and mesh glass. Installation of wires and bars also takes place to double the protection.

Security Screens

Security screen installations such as crimsafe security screens on doors or on windows will strengthen the protective measures. Attachment of these screens can be done by; pressure, glue, screws, and many other ways. These screens provide protection without ruining the outlook of your house. These are also known as storm doors.

By changing just the screen on the windows and doors, you can secure your house, which makes this product economical and saves you a lot of money and time in the end. Moreover, natural light and ventilation is not compromised, if you install security screens at your home. Security screens attached to steel or iron frames will last longer and provide greater protection than plastic and wooden frames.

Security Fencing

Fencing your house not only increases its market value and makes it look attractive, but it also makes it secure and safe. This will help in defining the boundaries of your house and providing a safe and secure area for your kids and pets to play in. Additionally, it also stops intruders from entering, and maintains your privacy. You can also prevent people from stealing plants, fruits, or flowers you have grown in your yard.

Although you cannot stop crime from occurring but you can take preventive measures to keep your loved ones and belongings safe. Make a onetime investment but ensure that it is beneficial in the long run.

There are many ways to change your utilitarian kitchen to one that is modern, distinct and a pleasure to spend time in. While an old trend was to eat out or buy fast food, these days’ people have become more conscious of their health and realise that good food cooked properly is not only tasty, but very healthy for us.  Children especially need healthy food if they are to grow up strong and healthy.  The old adage ‘you are what you eat’ still holds true and when you employ highly experienced cabinet makers for a modern kitchen, it will help you to prepare food that makes your family healthy and energetic.

Here are 4 great ideas you may be able to incorporate in your kitchen to make it more modern and easier to work in.

  1. The butler’s kitchen – If you are designing your home or renovating the kitchen you may be able to incorporate this idea. Basically, it is to have a workspace for food preparation off the kitchen so all the messy part of cooking is not so noticeable. This space can also contain the washing machine and dryer, but it should major on counter space and storage. The main part of the kitchen will contain the stove, dishwasher and sink along with a breakfast bar and stools. It will lead into the dining area.
  2. The humble barbeque – it has already moved onto the deck. With a little more forethought it can become a part of the modern kitchen, seamlessly integrating outdoor elements into the indoors to make the chef’s life easier and enable barbeques to be held year-round and in all kinds of weather. Storms and cold wind will no longer spoil your plans.
  3. An organic look – the finishes used in kitchens have left the cold sterility of stainless steel behind and instead offer a warm, organic look and feel by using natural finishes such as warm timber, stone and even laminates. These materials are used on more than just the counters and cupboards. Walls and ceilings sport the new welcoming look of warm finishes so that your kitchen will enfold the whole family and visitors too.
  4. Merging – with the rest of the home. No longer is the kitchen a separate room. Instead it merges with the rest of the home. The living areas can be right next to the kitchen so guests can sit in comfort on the sofa while you cook their dinner and chat to them. Kitchens can also merge with the courtyard by using wide glass sliding doors that can be opened on a warm day, but closed to keep out chilly wind without spoiling the view.

Of course, every kitchen should include the kind of design that makes life and work easier.  Touch-turn taps, deep drawers that close at a touch instead of cupboards you have to kneel down to reach inside of, great lighting and plenty of storage are just things that should always be in a kitchen. It should be a pleasure to work in rather than a space you only go into because you have to.

Most people are interested in ways to save money. If you are planning a new home, now is the time to start thinking along these lines as the design is an important factor in the costs of running the home.

If you intend to stay in your home for many years you really don’t want to choose design elements that are going to always be expensive. It is simpler than you may think to ensure you include cost-saving elements at the design stage, but many of the simpler ones can also be added after the home is built, so don’t feel dismayed if you are already in your home.

Here are 5 ways to save money with your home design.

  1. Consider the climate. In a warm climate, large windows installed on opposite side of the home will enable cooling breezes to flow through. This means the air conditioner will not be needed so often. Find out which direction the prevailing breeze usually comes from and go from there. In cooler/cold climates, smaller windows may be better- or you could have double glazing. Larger windows on the sunny side of the home can often bring in natural warmth. They also increase natural light so you will not need to have lights on during the day.
  2. Room placement. This is not always possible, but if you can have the living rooms on the sunny side of the home you will find life more pleasant and the need for heating/lighting reduced. Some floor plans can be reversed to facilitate this.
  3. Wider eaves. In warm climates, wide eaves create more shade in the summer so the walls do not get as hot. In the winter when the sun is lower in the sky, sunlight can still warm the rooms by shining in through windows.
  4. Efficient appliances. Whether you have reverse cycle air conditioning, a gas heater or a wood-burning fire, efficiency is the watchword. Inefficient appliances mean they work harder for a smaller result and you are paying extra. Make sure the size and output of the appliance suits the size of your home and have it installed in a position that facilitates the flow of warm or cool air throughout the main rooms. Quality insulation should always be used to help reduce the heating/cooling needed.
  5. Efficient fixtures. Water usage and heating is always an ongoing cost, so making sure your shower heads are ‘green’ the kind that minimises your water flow. You’ll enjoy your shower even more when you know it is not costing you heaps in terms of water heating and usage. Lighting should also be ‘green’. Note that chandeliers use a lot of power simply because there are multiple globes.

House Design

If your home is an older style one that was built before the interest in green technology you can still make small improvements such as changing the lighting fixtures and ensuring your kitchen appliances are the kind that use less energy or less water. It is also possible to use natural plants such as tall shrubs or small trees to create shade on the west side of the home. Use a deciduous tree so that winter sun can still help to warm your home. You may also be able to install larger windows.

You need to have a good understanding of the psychology of your audience in order to deliver a meaningful experience through your website design.

The human mind has a tendency to gravitate towards novelty – the unknown. Novel experiences do not just capture our attention; they are also an essential need of the human mind. We feel the pull of the world as our brain continues to seek novel experiences.

Once a new experience is known and understood, the brain wanders again to find another unknown to master. From one novel experience to another, the human brain seems to flow through the world exploring new concepts, mastering them and then setting them aside as the attention is drawn to something novel.

And all this happens within seconds!

1.      Relevance

Storytelling – The Modern Art of Learning

Your business website will be a success if only you’ll let your audience know why it is important for them to go through this information. The learning session that you design needs to be relevant and meaningful to your audience and in order to make the information more relevant to your audience; you need to have a good understanding of their psychology.

A good way to organize information is to design it into a narrative structure. The concept of storytelling has always been one of the most critical parts of social engagement. Stories and myths are not only relatable, but are also a fun way to capture the attention of your audience.

Incorporating real life examples to your content, especially when it is too complex and obscure to comprehend, is an apt way to facilitate learning and retain the attention of your audience better.

2.      Scaffolding

It’s all about connecting the dots!

The human brain has a tendency to adapt and rewire itself. Based on new learning experiences, the brain’s neural network reorganizes and reinforces itself. By connecting newly learned information with what’s already been learned, the human brain adjusts itself to new information.  This is the prime reason why our memory is so rich, because it is formed through associations.

3.      Reinforcement

Feedback is welcome!

Reinforcement is a very critical step in helping our brain form memories because it shifts the memory from the short term category to long term category.

For example, if you learn new skills or information, you’ll be able to retain part of this information. However, since this information is held loosely in your immediate memory, just long enough for the eLearning program to play itself out.  As your brain tries to form connections, the newly learned information is held in your working memory, and once the connections are made through reinforcement, the information becomes a part of long term memory and this is how learning takes place.

Bottom Line – Know your Customers!

Striving continuously for change in our lives, we seem to be on the lookout for new and better solutions to make our lives better. The article discussed some basic rules that need to be kept in mind when designing a website for your business. Remember, if you place yourself in your customer shoes every time you come up with a plan to attract them, you’ll never go wrong.

Proper landscaping around your home enhances the street appeal, makes it more attractive and utilises all those small or narrow spaces that are otherwise never used.  By using your imagination and thinking outside the box you will be able to make every part of your garden and lawn look amazing and get the best use out of it all instead of only some of it. Even narrow or very shady parts at the side of the home can be renovated so that they look wonderful instead of like the town dump.

Here are 4 ideas to make your Landscape Design pop.

  1. Add a water feature – there are many water features that do not take much effort or skill to install. Even a small backyard will rock with a water feature installed on the fence or wherever you want it. You can even have one on the back deck. Water features can be as simple as a half a wine keg filled with water, a plant and a fish. It can be a column topped with a glistening ball, a waterfall running into a pool, a statue with a spray of water coming from it or a set of three tipped up buckets that water drips out of. Simple or complicated, water in the garden will certainly make it pop.

  1. Convert some of the lawn area by adding a big square of pavers and even a roof over the top so you can relax in the shade. Adding some pots with colourful flowers in them and a small table next to your garden furniture will enhance this relaxation space.
  1. Add an archway. An archway over the gate or in the middle of the lawn will create a great deal of interest and you can grow a climber at one or both sides. This creates vertical interest that can guide the eye into other areas of the garden. For instance, an attractive statue or urn, or a small pond several metres behind the archway so that the eye is drawn through the arch to it, will look great.
  1. Add a larger element such as a gazebo or a fishpond. The latter may not be a good idea if you have toddlers who tend to be drawn to water. However, you could surround the pool with plants and an edging so that children will not be able to access it so easily.

Pathways and retaining walls are also effective as design elements in landscaping. Pathways can be as simple as poisoning a narrow strip of grass – lr laying down black plastic – and adding gravel or pinebark chips. You can use pavers to keep your feet dry.

One way to deal with that narrow side strip that many homes seem to have is to lay pavers in a diamond shape along the length and fill in the alternating dirt squares with perennial groundcovers. Hang some pot-plants along the wall of the house or the fence.

If you have children and want to keep a lot of playing space for them, placing centre attractions may not be the way to go. Instead, you can grow a garden of shade loving plants under the trampoline, or keep gardens and shrubs to the edges or back of the yard. What you do with your landscaping depends on your lifestyle and needs, so these should be considered before going ahead.

Security fencing is often chosen by homeowners to ensure their homes are secure from harm and their lifestyle safe from intruders. It gives you peace of mind that no unpleasant things will happen and that your possessions are safe. However, if you have a nice property with attractive grounds the last thing you want is an ugly fence to spoil the look of it and to spoil your view, so what can you do? Choosing a fence design to suit the grounds and the home is a good start.

Choose the Style and Colour

While the options may be limited, there are still some. The main choice is between a chain link or mesh fence and one with steel posts and rails. The latter gives a higher level of security and can be powder-coated so there is some choice of colour. Choose the colour to blend with your grounds and landscaping. For instance, if there are a lot of trees with dark coloured trunks on your property, a dark brown fence would blend in with them well. If your grounds are more cleared with lots of lawn, green would be more suitable. View some fence design photos

Add a Garden

Once the fence has been installed you will be able to grow flowering shrubs or other plants along the inside. Make sure that what you plant will not grow large enough to hang over the top of the fence and offer a possible foothold for intruders to climb over. For a smaller property, a flower garden, perhaps with climbers, will make the fence more attractive. Again, ensure the climber is not strong enough to help anyone climb up.

Curve the Top

The top of the fence will create a visible line along your property. You can choose an attractive top that will enhance the look of the fence while still doing the job it is meant to. Having the top shaped to curve into an arch between posts gives a nice outline that is very attractive when viewed from a distance. The posts can also be chosen for their looks. Instead of steel posts you could have attractive brick or stone pillars to support the horizontal rails of your security fencing.

Pick a Picket

Timber picket fences can also provide security if they are high enough. These offer even more options for colour, shape and design, even though you do need to paint them every few years to ensure the timber does not rot. White always looks attractive and will usually look good with your home, but brown, green and other earth tones will certainly blend into the surrounding landscaping. You may even want your fence to stand out by painting it yellow or purple.

Foundations

The fence depends on its foundations for its strength. Posts need to be cemented into the ground, or if the fence is a brick one, footings need to be deep enough to support the weight. A steel fence can look more attractive by adding concrete units along the base that are coloured to match or tone in with the colour of your home. Such a base gives a look of solidity and strength to the fence as well as preventing any digging. If you have dogs that like to dig it will keep them safely inside the fence.

Not all kitchens are user friendly, especially those older ones that were designed before new innovations had been thought of. Today there are many ways that are very cost effective to ensure your kitchen is easy to use. If you are designing a home or plan to renovate the kitchen, it is easier still to add components that make working in the kitchen much more pleasant.

Counter space is an important part of kitchen design. If you don’t have enough space to prepare dishes you will always find the kitchen difficult to use. With a kitchen that is already built, additional counter space can be added in several ways.

  • Install an island or butcher’s block in the centre or side
  • Purchase a special tray designed to go over the sink
  • Add a fold out table at one end of the counters that are there
  • Find a spot to have a small table
  • Clear stuff off the space you already have to make the most of it

Appliances are often simply left on the counter top, taking up valuable space that could otherwise be used for food preparation.  Storing them in cupboards or adding a shelf above the counter for them will free up space on your counter.

Storage space is also important to make your kitchen user friendly. Don’t let your cupboard space get inundated with outdated things you never use. If you simply cannot throw them away, pack them into a box and store them in the garage.  To be really user friendly, storage space should be accessible.  Deep drawers that slide out are far more accessible than cupboards with shelves. Such drawers need to be on runners to make them easy to pull out. And magnet closures will allow them to slide back in with just a touch.

Many people like open shelving, but in fact this does not make the kitchen user friendly because they get dusty quickly, so you have to clean them more often. Glass shelving especially should be banned from the kitchen.

Power points are a necessary element of any kitchen. If you have to have all your appliances in one small spot because there are no other power outlets it will not be convenient. Add an outlet to your kitchen island, to the other end of the counter space and even inside a cupboard for ease of use.

Lighting is another component that is not difficult to change or add to. Many kitchens just have one central light. This means that you are working in your own shadow much of the time. Adding down-lights under overhead cupboards or wherever they will shine directly on your work area gives a much more pleasant work space. You might also be able to enlarge the kitchen windows so that natural light will pour into your work space.

Light can also be increased by repainting the kitchen in a very light colour. The ceiling can be a satin finish instead of matt as this will reflect light. Cupboards doors can also be changed to a lighter colour.

Once your kitchen has some of these user friendly solutions you will find that you don’t hate food preparation or cooking nearly as much as you once did.

The upsurge of modern technology means that it is now possible for many more people than ever before to work from home. But to do so they need some kind of office space, thus the home office has evolved from a spot on the end of the table or sofa to a dedicated space. One major contribution to a change in home office space is the laptop or tablet.

Many people who work from home do not need to have a large computer desk with room for a tower. A sleek table where they can use their laptop is sufficient and looks much nicer. All that is needed in addition to the table and chair are a few shelves for storage. This can also be minimalist due to the ability of the laptop to store more information than ever before. In fact, cloud storage solutions are even better as they are safe from physical harm such as fires or vandals and available whenever you need them. So the home office continues to evolve, but what you actually need in your personal office space will depend on how much work you need to do on your computer.

People who sit for hours typing away on the computer may feel that a larger screen and keyboard is essential. Even a roll-out keyboard still leaves you looking at a smaller screen. A larger screen will save your eyes from strain and a full size keyboard may help prevent RSI and even shoulder and arm strain. People with wide shoulders find it difficult to force their hands to stay close together for long hours on the keyboard. They would benefit from a split keyboard so they can spread out a bit.

That said, the home office has evolved and is still evolving into a personal space that will suit your needs and workload. Here are three modern trends seen in the home office.

  1. No longer is it suitable to squeeze into a space that is annoying and cramped. You cannot be professional in your work if you are tripping over toys or if the television is blaring some kids programme in the background. The home office has moved from these distractions into a place where work can be embraced and focussed on.
  2. Furniture for the home office space is now designed especially to ensure it provides what you need. Tables can be adjustable so you can stand up and use the keyboard when your body gets tired of sitting. Moving from one position to the other several times a day will prevent strain and stiffness. Chairs are eco-friendly, adjustable and supportive so that you can sit straight without it being a strain. An easy chair is provided so you can again, change your position when you need to do work that does not include using the computer. Telephone calls and reading mail can be done from the comfort of your easy chair.
  3. Once the children are not at home during the day, the home office can be moved from the general living area to a dedicated room. A spare bedroom or renovated attic are both good places for setting up your home office. You may even consider refurbishing an outdoor shed or filling in one end of the deck if you live in a temperate climate.

It is not a luxury to dedicate more thought and effort to making your home office space a place that welcomes you. When you are in pleasant surrounding you can work better. And since much of the day is spent working, it is important to feel happy in your workspace.

Do you think a pool adds beauty to a house? Does it increase the market value of your property? Investing on a pool is good for leisure; however its preference varies from country to country depending on the weather condition and lots of different factors. Let’s find out how a pool can prove to be beneficial for your upscale house.

Market Value: Up or Down?

Although there is an ongoing debate regarding pools adding value to the house; in upscale areas, pools are considered to be a necessity. The National Association of Realtors has published a study which shows the rise in home market value from 8% to 15% after the installation of swimming pools. Regionally, the Southeastern side depicts a growth range from 5% to 10%; whereas the Southwest region increment is from 8% to 13%.

It is better to install pools on big properties in rich neighborhoods as this investment will pay back in the end when you will put your property up for sale, because the buyer will want luxury in everything.

People who live in a warmer climate benefit the most from the addition of pool. The size of the pool should also be according to your property. If your property is not of much worth, installing a pool won’t be a rational investment at the end of the day. So if your backyard is big enough, you can add a garden or play area to double the fun and value.

Remember that pools require annual maintenance and innovative updates to maintain their value and get you the cost you desire when you sell your home.

Recreational Use

Summer time and pool time go side by side. Spending your summer holiday relaxing and playing with your kids are common activities. However, youngsters can also take full advantage of the pool by calling their friends over and having a pool party. Swimming is also a great way to exercise. By installing a pool in your house, you are making sure that your family remains healthy with more enjoyment and family time together.

Safety Measures

Although pools beautify your house, there are a few precautionary measures you should take for safety as well as the maintenance of the pool which are as follows:

  1. Maintenance of the pool every month is essential, health wise as well as hygiene wise. To protect everyone who is using the pool, use of chlorine and other chemicals is necessary.
  2. If you have young kids in your house, making a boundary around the pool is essential to keep them away if there is no adult supervision.

We cannot deny that a house with pool facility is unique and remarkable and appears appealing to people. Moreover, the delight and amusement, and the memories you will make with your loved ones in the pool is immeasurable to any amount of money in the world, and will also enhance the quality of your life.

Everyone loves to have some kind of landscaping for their property to enhance their own enjoyment and make the place attractive to others.  However, garden chores are often heavy and time consuming, and if you work all day you might prefer to keep your weekends for playing sport or just relaxing rather than weeding, mowing and doing all of those other  never-ending gardening chores. There are several ways you can have the best of both worlds; great landscaping and time for leisure as well. How?

Lower the Maintenance

First off, you need to plan your garden to be a low maintenance one. This means forget the annuals that are so showy and need to be planted, watered and weeded every season. Instead, find perennials or permanent shrubs and bushes that offer attractive flowers, seedpods, autumn foliage and bark so that your garden will have something of interest in it all year round. If you dearly love annuals, grow a few in pots that are quick and easy to replace.

Low Maintenance Landscaping Ideas

Shape Rather Than Colour

Think in terms of shape and different shades of green to give the visual interest you need. Have plants with narrow, spiky leaves, fat round leaves, tiny oval leaves – and so on. Many plants have multi-coloured or variegated leaves and flowers and new leaf growth that is pink. Have tall and short, erect and weeping types of plants; deciduous and evergreen. Choose trees and shrubs that do not have large seedpods to drop over your lawn and look untidy. Read more: Deciduous and Evergreen Trees

Hardware for Visual Interest

Visual interest and colour can also be added by the careful use of hardware. A stone bench, or a colourful garden statue will never need replanting or watering.  Choose plants that are suited to your climate and are drought hardy to save water and watering. Automate chores such as watering with an in ground sprinkler system. Choose plants that can grow to their full size and don’t need to be pruned constantly.

Options to Replace Lawn

If you hate mowing the lawn, consider replacing some of it with pavers – or a pool, if you don’t have one. If you have children and a swing set, consider digging some of the lawn up and making an area similar to the playground in public parks. Pine chips or even sand are great for the kids to play on and fall on. You can have their swing set, trampoline and slide in this area. Add a cubby house for hours of outside play and an area that does not need mowing or maintaining.

Hire a Gardener

Hire a gardener to come on a regular basis to maintain your garden. Imagine sleeping in on Saturday morning while someone else is busy making your landscaping look terrific. You’ll enjoy your garden even more if you don’t have to slave over it all the time. Once you have a low maintenance garden, having someone else tend it will be even more affordable. They will not need to come in every week, but perhaps once a month, or more in the summer for mowing. And you will have more energy to expend on fun things such as playing golf or shopping.

If you are building a new home, you will be aware of the many choices you need to make regarding building materials and home design both inside and externally. One of the major considerations is the roof and roofing materials. There are several choices for roofing materials, from various types of tiles through to Colorbond roofing, which is made from steel and has the coloured finish baked on.

The actual design of the roof can make a great deal of difference to the look of the house, but sometimes you are limited by the capabilities of the material you build with. For instance, generally speaking tiles cannot be used on a flat roof – at least not without a lot of waterproofing underneath, because rainwater would run under the joins and leak into the ceiling cavity. This does not happen with steel sheeting.

Colorbond steel roofing can enhance your home design in several ways: –

  1. Colorbond comes in 23 colours, most of which are suitable for the roof. There are light colours and darker colours that all reflect the natural environment of Australia. You will find a greater variety of colours in Colorbond than in any other kind of roofing material; creams, greys, greens, blues, ochre tones and even deep red and black.
  2. The special way the colour is baked into the surface of the steel increases its insulation properties, giving you a home that is cool in the summer while still being warmer in the winter. While this aspect is not a visible home design enhancement, it certainly makes a difference to the comfort of the residents.
  3. Steel roofing is versatile as it can be rolled to give a curved edge that enhances many older style homes. This seems to fit in beautifully with steel lacework on the deck or front veranda.
  4. Colorbond roofing can be cut to fit any shape, so you can have any type of roof you want: –
  • Gable
  • Hip or hip and valley
  • Gambrel
  • Jerkinhead
  • Flat
  • Butterfly
  • Mansard and more
  1. Colorbond is not just corrugated with even waves like the old corrugated iron was. While this does seem to be the most popular choice for roofs, there are several different designs that can truly enhance the look of your home where the roof is visible. These designs are often chosen for patios and deck roofs, but there is no reason they cannot be used for the main roof as well.

There are many advantages of using this type of roofing apart from enhancing the design of your home. It is a top quality building material that lasts for a long time. It is strong and durable and can be installed quickly. And it needs minimal support, which is why you often see it used to roof extensions, decks and carports.

When you have a Colorbond roof, there are few niches where sparks from a fire can get in and start your house frame burning, unlike tiles. And of course, termites won’t attack it. Colorbond roofing is a low maintenance material that has become increasingly popular since its inception.

Many homeowners these days choose Colorbond for their roofs and increasingly, for the wall cladding as well.  Such a home can be built quickly and cost effectively, saving the owners a great deal in rental while they wait for their home to be finished.

Many people try to save on costs when moving into a new home or office by asking friends to help them move, or by hiring a truck, or asking someone who owns one to help them out for a small reward such as a 6-pack. You may think these options could save you money in the short term, but they are likely to  cost more in the long run. How?

  1. You cannot really trust a person who does not do removalist work as a living to get it right. For starters, they are not likely to know how to pack your goods into their truck in a way that will stop them from moving. Scrapes and dents on your favourite pieces of furniture are likely and fragile treasures may get broken beyond repair.
  1. A non-removalist will not have the right insurance, so if anything gets broken you will have to pay the cost of repair or replacement yourself. And what happens if they are involved in an accident enroute to your new home? Most of your furniture will end up broken and you will have to pay for that, too. You may also have to pay for medical costs or truck repairs.
  1. If they are doing a freebie for you and suddenly a paying job shows up, they may ‘forget’ your deal and leave you without a truck at the last minute. It is almost impossible to hire a professional removalist at short notice, so your moving day and organisation will be thrown into disarray.
  1. A friend won’t be able to supply the correct packing boxes or offer extra services such as wrapping, carpet cleaning and packing like most professional removalists do.

  1. A non-professional removalist will not have the training in how to lift heavy furniture. What happens if they injure their back badly and lose weeks of work while recovering? You will feel bad and they could even sue you.
  1. Is their truck in good condition? If not, you risk all your worldly goods being stuck on the side of the road while the truck is repaired.
  1. A friend of a friend won’t have the equipment to make moving heavy furniture into a truck – and out again at the other end – easier and safer.
  1. Nor will they expect to pay for the fuel and their accommodation and meals – and drinks – if the haul is a long one.

So all in all, it is a far less risky option to choose professional removalists who know how to care for your furniture and get it safely to its destination. And you will know ahead of time what the cost is, so you can budget for it before it is due.

When people first started working from home their home office was usually a spot on the end of the dining room table. Or if they had a laptop, maybe it was on the most comfy seat in the living room. However, the home office has now evolved to become a dedicated space more suited to the user’s needs.  Where you put your home office will depend a lot on your lifestyle and stage of life as well as on what you use the office for.

If you have children at home that need to be supervised, your home office will need to be somewhere in the home from whence you can see them and tend to their needs, rather than a room you can go into and shut the door. A corner of the family room would be a good place. Here you can set up your desk and have some kind of storage. You may also want a box of toys to distract the children with so you can get on with what you are doing.

If your children are at the stage where they can amuse themselves or are going to school, you can still have your home office in the corner of the living room as there will be no distractions through the day. However, if you have a spare room you might consider converting it to a real office space, especially if you need to use it a lot. You can have a space that is all your own and be sure that there will be no disturbances.

If your children are grown up or if you have no children, the home office can be anywhere you want it to be. You might like to have an outside garden shed converted into a space that is all your own. You will not be disturbed by the home phone or by anyone knocking on the door. If you are writing a thriller it can really put you off your plot to answer the door right as the bad guys are creeping up on the heroine. And you can hardly tell that caller to go away because you are in the middle of a murder. That said, if it is an unwanted salesman that would be a really good way to get rid of them.

Some people have solved the problem of where to put their home office by setting up their computer inside a built-in wardrobe cavity. They can then close the doors when they leave it, so the toddlers can’t pull down the cables or chew them, or unplug anything.  Now there are backlit laptops you can even have your office out on the deck in warm weather. This allows the kids to go play on the swing or trampoline while you are – for the most part – supervising them.

In fact, if you are short of space you can fit a computer desk and shelving under the stairs or in any other small space that is available – or that you can make available. Just be sure that there is enough light that you don’t strain your eyes.

Home design for the Smart Home starts right at the planning stage, however it can be installed after the home is built if necessary.  The main thing is to have the wiring in place so that all the latest technology can be installed as the home is built – or even added afterwards. Once the wiring is in place, adding components after the building stage is easy.

Having what is called a Smart Home is not only about entertainment and convenience; it is also about safety. For instance, you can have an alarm for the other end of your driveway that will alert you when any car or person enters the drive. This is good for those homes with long driveways that may not all be visible from the house. Your house alarm can be automatically de-activated as you drive in yourself and reactivated when you leave. The same goes for lights, heating and cooling which can all be automatically switched on or off as you enter and leave.

Smart Lighting and Sound

In fact, lights can not only be turned on and off remotely, they can be dimmed for an evening or even change colour at the flick of a switch. LED lights can now integrate with this kind of technology.

Smart home design also encompasses things like being able to turn sound on and off and also adjust it and being able to monitor the baby visually and with audio from any room in the house. You can have a screen to monitor who is knocking on the door and speak to them without opening it. And of course, you can unlock the door remotely as well. Read more about Smart Lighting

Unlock the Doors with No Key

Being able to lock or unlock the doors when you are not even at home is amazing and very convenient. If necessary you can let in relatives or tradesmen from your office desk; no more leaving the key under a rock or having another one cut that might not be returned to you.  You can also check whether you left a door unlocked – in fact, a Smart home will let you know on your iPhone – and you can lock it from your iPhone too.  This and many more things can be done using your iPhone when you have a Smart home.

Temperature Control

A Smart home can also control the inside temperature automatically or remotely, based on your needs. So there is no need to come home to a house that is stifling or freezing cold, simply use your iPhone to remotely adjust the temperature. And while you are at home the temperature will be adjusted automatically. You can also do it manually if you want to.

Garden Maintenance

No, a Smart home will not weed your garden, but it will certainly ensure it is watered properly. This is not just about setting your sprinkler system to come on at regular intervals. It is more about using technology to identify whether it even needs watering and to act accordingly. So if you have a sudden storm, there is no need to adjust the irrigation timing because your Smart home will do all that for you automatically.

4 Difficulties You May Encounter When Moving Interstate

Moving interstate is somewhat different from moving across town and not only because of the extra distance, although that is certainly a factor.  The longer a truck is on the road, the more likely it is that misadventure will affect it in some way. There can be bad weather, heavy traffic, accidents and breakdowns that are all likely to cause delay in arriving at the destination. It is essential to take this into account when planning times and dates.

  1. Keep in contact

It is also essential to give your professional removalists several ways to contact you in case of emergencies or hold-ups.  Otherwise you could be waiting at your new house wondering when your furniture will ever arrive. Your mobile phone, phone numbers of friends or family who can contact you and even an email address will all be very helpful for the removalist to stay in contact for whatever reason. And don’t forget to keep that mobile phone charged up and on at all times until you and your furniture are all reunited in your new home.

2.Plant restrictions

Another problem many people don’t even think about when packing up and heading off to another state is plant restrictions.  Very often certain plants cannot be taken into another state and sometimes they cannot even be taken past a specific point in the same state. So if you want to take cuttings or plants with you from your current garden you may not be able to. In fact, in NSW you cannot even take raw fruit past a certain point when heading south. And plants cannot be taken into Western Australia from other states.

3.Packing with care

When moving interstate, packing needs to be done more carefully with extra padding that will last the longer distance. It is wise to clearly label boxes on the top especially if they contain breakables.  Also, put your name, delivery address and job number on each box, because sometimes two or more people share a truck over such a long distance.

4.Coping with emotional problems

When you move far away from family and friends there will always be some kind of emotional fallout.  Make new friends as soon as possible and check on the children to ensure that they are coping with the change. Join up with a club or two or introduce yourself to your neighbours as soon as you have time.

Children can be quite resilient to change, but they will have left their friends behind so make sure they are finding others to take their place. Joining the school P&C or volunteering for tuckshop duty will help you make friends and help the children to feel that they are not quite so alone.

For many years the only carpet cleaning products available were toxic chemicals. That was before people realised just how bad they were for the environment, not to mention the people who worked with them. It took longer for anyone to realise that such chemicals were also bad for those who used the room afterwards.

Unlike eco friendly carpet cleaning products, the fumes from chemical cleaners caused breathing problems, skin rashes and allergies. The ingredients in some chemicals are also known as carcinogenic, which means they are linked to causing cancer in some way. This in itself is a good reason to choose a professional carpet cleaner who uses environmentally friendly products to clean your carpet.

In the workplace it is important that staff can work in a room as soon as possible after it has been cleaned. If toxic fumes are rising from the cleaning products, their safety will be compromised and they will find it difficult to concentrate on their work. They could feel sick or even have problems breathing. Besides, no one wants to stay in a room that smells awful.

In the home it is even more important to have an environment that is safe. Children and pets often play, sit and lie on the carpet. If the fibres contain a toxic substance it will most certainly come into contact with the children’s skin.  And being so close to the carpet their lungs will be full of whatever fumes are being emitted from the chemicals used.

Those fumes also drift right around the home to rooms that may not even have carpet in them. When the house is shut up for the night, the fumes will increase and you will breathe them in while you sleep. That is why it is far better and safer to only allow environmentally friendly cleaners into your home.

It is not only the home that is affected by the cleaning products used. They enter the waterways and end up having a detrimental effect on the plants and organisms that live there. In fact, poisonous substances actually work their way right up the food chain if the river they are in is used for crop irrigation, or to irrigate pasture that cattle eat.

What we use to clean our homes and working environment has an effect on many other parts of our lives and the lives of others many kilometres away, so it is essential to take care. If we use poisons to clean our home, we are not only endangering our loved ones, but the whole area we live in and more besides. Using non-toxic chemicals to clean the carpet is not difficult and finding environmentally friendly cleaners for other parts of the home is easy, too.
