Blank Media Collective (BMC) is an artist-led, not-for-profit organisation established in 2006 and is run from Manchester by a dedicated team of volunteers. The organisation is developing an excellent reputation for the high quality of its output. BMC are proud to offer a vital support network to hundreds of creative practitioners from throughout the UK and abroad as well as its base in the North-West.
BMC is ready to build upon our dedicated team of volunteers to enhance and support the growing reputation of the organisation, and is therefore looking for committed creative people based in Manchester to join the team.

The roles, (with a minimum expectancy of 8 hours a week) offer participants the opportunity to advance their current skills, provide experience of working with an arts organisation, along with mentoring and support from our established team, thus gaining an edge within the competitive arts industry.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
Communications Coordinator (Exhibitions)
The Communications Coordinator will work with the exhibitions curators on both internal exhibitions at BLANKSPACE and external projects. The role will include:
• Working alongside the curators and internal design team to form press releases, advertising materials and increasing engagement throughout local, national and international communities.
• Building relationships with the press, editors, local authorities etc.
• Meeting once a week with the Exhibitions team
Requirements:
• Interest in arts or voluntary sector.
• Experience within a related cultural organisation, project or similar
• Good contacts within the press and related industries.
Funding & Sponsorship Coordinator (Exhibitions)
The Funding & Sponsorship Coordinator will work with the exhibitions curators on both internal exhibitions at BLANKSPACE and external projects. The role will include:
• Working alongside the curators to form funding applications, crowd sourcing and corporate engagement
• Building relationships with potential funders, donars, patrons and businesses
• Meeting once a week with the Exhibitions team
Requirements:
• Interest in arts or voluntary sector.
• Experience within a related cultural organisation, project or similar
• Good contacts with funders, businesses and related industries.
Community Arts & Learning Coordinator (Exhibitions)
The Community Arts & Learning Coordinator will work with the exhibitions curators on both internal exhibitions at BLANKSPACE and external projects. The role will include:
• Working alongside the curators to organise and facilitate community engagement events, activities and workshops.
• Building relationships with workshop leaders, schools, colleges, community groups etc.
• Meeting once a week with the Exhibitions team
Requirements:
• Interest in arts or voluntary sector.
• Experience within a related cultural organisation, project or similar
• Good contacts with workshop leaders, schools, colleges and community groups in the local area.
blankpages Music Editor
The blankpages Music Editor will be responsible for selecting and working with musicians to showcase their work in the magazine. This role will include:
• Working alongside the blankpages team to select, liaise with and showcase the work of emerging musicians
• Interviewing and meeting musicians either in person, via Skype or email
• Building relationships with musicians and future readers / subscribers for the magazine
• Meeting every fortnight with the blankpages team
Requirements:
• Interest in arts or voluntary sector.
• Experience within a related cultural organisation, project or similar
• Good contacts with musicians
Web Content Manager
The Web Content Manager will be responsible for uploading and disseminating information via the BMC website and other online media. This role will include:
• Uploading content and information formed by other areas of the BMC team to our website, mailing list, social media and other online sources
• Increasing the traffic and visitors to the BMC site
• Develop and work on the content and design for online presence for BMC
• Work closely with all members of the BMC team
Requirements:
• Interest in arts or voluntary sector.
• Experience within a related cultural organisation, project or similar
• Experience within web management, html and design
External Exhibitions & Events Manager (BLANKSPACE)
The External Exhibitions & Events Manager will be responsible for managing all external events and exhibitions at BLANKSPACE. This role will include:
• Liaising with artists, curators and groups interested in hosting their exhibition or event at BLANKSPACE
• Supporting all aspects of the organisation and facilitation of external events and exhibitions
• Maximising interest and awareness of hosting events and exhibitions at BLANKSPACE
• Selecting exhibitions and events to take place at BLANKSPACE from proposals and expressions of interest.
• Work closely with the Directors of Blank Media Collective and BLANKSPACE venue Manager
Requirements:
• Interest in arts or voluntary sector.
• Experience within a related cultural organisation, project or similar
• Experience within project management and working with artists
