Q. How much will it cost to sell my work on BlankMarket?
A. Nothing. There are no joining fees with BlankMarket, we only ask that you have created a profile and uploaded your work to Blank Media’s website.
Q. What is the commission used for?
A. Blank Media Collective takes 30% commission from all individual sales of artwork from BlankMarket. This money is used to support the organisation’s aims and objectives as well as our plans to open a new contemporary art space in Manchester. Blank Media Collective is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation.
Q. How will I be paid if my work is sold through BlankMarket
A. All BlankMarket transactions will be made via Paypal. Artists whose work has been accepted for sale in BlankMarket will be asked to provide details of a valid Paypal account to which we can transfer the proceeds of any sales. Payment will be received through Blank Media’s PayPal account and then transferred to the artist’s Paypal account within three working days of the order. Artists are responsible for paying all PayPal fees.
Q. Do I need to send the work to BlankMarket?
A. No, until a piece of work is sold it remains with the artist. Once it is sold you will be responsible for safely packing the work and attaching the documentation we will send you.
Q. Who pays for postage and packing?
A. The artist will pay for postage and packing and the cost of this must be included in the sale price. The artist is also responsible for shipping the work and, for high value purchases, taking out additional insurance. We ask that you aim to despatch work within 5 days of the customers order. We guarantee delivery within 28 days of the customers order.
Q. How many pieces of work can I sell through BlankMarket?
A. You can upload and choose to sell up to 10 pieces of work through your artists’ profile.
Q. What sort of work can I sell through BlankMarket?
A. At BlankMarket, we aim to accommodate a broad range of artists, work, and media. We encourage submissions from all mediums.
Q. Can I sell work if I live outside of the UK?
A. Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to sell work from artists based in the UK and Ireland.
Q. What currency is the work sold in?
A. All work must be priced and sold in pound sterling.
Q. What if my art work is not selected for inclusion into BlankMarket?
A. Each piece of work is given very careful consideration for inclusion into BlankMarket. Our aim is to promote work of the highest standard, at reasonable prices. If, for any reason, your work is unsuccessful on one occasion, there is every chance you may be successful with another submission.
