Unbuilt - Exhibition opportunity

Almost a decade ago, undergraduates commenced architecture degrees amid a booming economic climate. Now, as students graduate into a recession and as architecture has taken the biggest hit of any professional group, Blank Media Collective want to curate a show of exciting work by emerging architecture talent at easaHQ (European Architecture Students Assembly HQ), Manchester.
We will have an opening party promoting and celebrating your creativity and it will be your opportunity to get your work out there in an interesting and exciting format… However, the twist is that we only want to see the work of those graduates who have not yet gained relevant employment. Interested?
Blank Media Collective are looking for submissions for Unbuilt OPEN exhibition and we want to see your existing work, which could be anything that you have worked on while developing your practice. As well as your portfolios we want to see development work, sketchbooks, even those really early ideas. Submissions may come from any medium, for example; photography, print, drawing, three-dimensional design, sculpture, installation and digital media. Please don’t be precious, take photos or scan your sketchbooks/work - as long as we can get the essence of your work. What is most important is that you submit as much or as little as you like. We will take care of the rest.

We will be holding optional drop-in sessions, where you can meet the curators ask any questions you might have about the exhibition, talk about your work and document any pieces that you may wish to submit:

Monday 29 March, 3-7pm, easaHQ, 43 Hulme Street, Manchester M15 6AW
Blank Media Collective has developed this exhibition to utilise the significance of easaHQ and to promote the shared objectives of the respective organisations. Unbuilt is a show that fits with the stride of our times, recognising that emerging architectural talent is struggling to find a place within the industry. Each year produces a batch of recent graduates with fresh portfolios and through Unbuilt Blank Media Collective will offer opportunities for emerging architects to explore elements of their creativity.
