Upcoming Event: [Recommends] Streets of Identity
Wednesday 9 March 2011 - Wednesday 6 April 2011
Instituto Cervantes, Manchester
As part of the ‘VIVA Festival’ that will take place at the beginning of March in Manchester in partnership between Instituto Cervantes, we are pleased to invite you to the next Centrepoint Collective exhibition entitled ‘Streets of Identity’ (Calles de Identidad) from the 9th of March to the 6th of April held at the Instituto Cervantes.
Streets of Identity is a comment on the concepts of culture, imagination and memory and the way they contribute towards identity in society bringing together the work of five photographers Roxana Allison (‘Becoming a Memory’), Pablo Allison (‘Angel’), Susana Sanroman (‘In Transitum’), Santiago Carrion (‘The Promised Land’) and Virginie Anne Hebert (‘The Art of Play’), all members of Centrepoint Collective.
Through the photographic media, they each explore and express different ideas and opinions on a subject that touches each and everyone. The five projects presented have been produced in the UK, Mexico, Spain, France, sometimes tackling controversial issues, and are a token of the rich diversity of the collective’s visions.
