Instrumental rock music is an idea as old as rock music itself, but the genre seems to have gained popularity among forward thinking musicians and listeners since Godspeed You! Black Emporer and Mogwai first opened our eyes over ten years ago. We here at Blank Media wish to celebrate the wealth of creative talent in Manchester that is focused on this area and as such are bringing together a diverse selection of some of the cities finest instrumental experimenters, from veterans like Day For Airstrikes to relatively new bands like NASDAQ, from jazz, through funk, pop and metal, to things which don’t even have a name yet! We’ve also invited a few friends from around the country to join us as you’ll see below…
