Resume

Biography / Personal Statement

Initially from a fine art background I have always had a strong interest in photography. Inspired by the work of Eugene Atget, Alfred Eisensteadt, Walker Evans and Robert Frank, I tend to document twentieth century architecture and design, cityscapes and landscapes, americana, kitsch, classic and custom cars. Considering light, contrast, shape and composition, I am drawn to styles from the early part of the twentieth century. I enjoy the simplicity in the bauhaus school of design of the tens, the decadance of the twenties and thirties, the hollywood glamour of the forties, and the cosumerism and pop culture of the fifties and sixties. I prefer the candid image, particularly when photographing people. I tend to take this approach when recording an event.
